Digital Social Stories for Children with Autism through Erasmus+ Project: A European-Supported Initiative by COMU Academics!
Our department's faculty member, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Levent ÇETİNKAYA, is also involved as a researcher in our 30-month Erasmus+ (KA220-HED) project titled "Upskilling Preservice Teachers to Support Young Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder through Digital Social Stories," which has been funded by the Polish National Agency with a budget of 250,000 Euros.
The project aims to develop and archive digital stories that are easily accessible and implemented by teachers to support the social-emotional skills of children with autism, which is one of the diagnostic characteristics of these children. Accordingly, the project will focus on the positive effects of social stories on children with ASD and will help them use these stories with digital educational materials supported by other visuals such as flashcards, word cards, symbol/sign cards, etc., combining them with digital teaching.
The project's partners include the University of Warsaw, the University of Bucharest, and Complutense University of Madrid. The project is led by Dr. Sinan KALKAN, with contributions from Education Faculty members Prof. Dr. M. Yunus ERYAMAN, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Martina RIEDLER ERYAMAN, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yahya Han ERBAŞ as researchers.
